ASCIA's 2010 season opens next month with our production of DOUBT.
Here are some sample photos to test the new ASCIA Gallery!
Enjoy.
"Nuts", the drama by Tom Topor, will be ASCIA's final production for 2009.
Directed by Anthony H. Grover, with a great cast, this play in three acts is about personal responsibility and self-direction. Set in a courtroom in the psychiatric wing of Bellevue hospital, it is adult themed and not recommended for young children. There is some "language". It is beautifully written and powerfully provocative.
Please call 516-686-7894 for tickets and information. You may leave reservations
at this number. Leave your number in case there is a problem. We only have 60 seats,
For the weekend of August 21, 22 and 23, Salten Hall will be accessible only through the rear entrance. Please park either in the lot behind Salten, by taking the first driveway on your left when you enter the campus, or the other back lot, the second driveway to the end where the handicaped spots are located. Both of these lots will allow easy access to the back of the ramped hallway of Salten Hall. If these are full you will need to park in the first big lot on your right and walk up to Salten and into the back entrance. Enjoy!!
OPENING HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO SATURDAY AUGUST 15TH WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE’S THE TAMING OF THE SHREW - AUGUST 15TH - AUGUST 29TH
For the 2009 season, A Small Company In America (ASCIA) is pleased to present William Shakespeare‘s The Taming of the Shrew. The production is being directed by Port Washington’s own Scott E. Jarvis with a great cast of new and veteran ASCIA members. As seen in Newsday, director Scott E. Jarvis is quoted as saying, “that this production will include the rarely seen Induction. It begins with another story entirely, so it’s a play within a play. In this version, a sleeping drunkard is taken to a manor and duped by the lord of the manse into thinking he’s been asleep for 16 years. In the midst of this, the lord has a group of traveling actors perform the play we know as ‘The Taming of the Shrew’”.
